Dad had planned to attend the senior ball with a girl he had met at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire the preceding summer. She
was from Springfield, Massachusetts and they wrote during the schoolyear. But she called about a week before the ball and
said she was unable to come. Needing a date, Dad's friend Bill Squires said he knew someone. Bill had dated this girl the
previous summer, and she had just gotten kicked out of the convent in Kentucky, her name was Katie Frost. Dad called her
and they agreed on a place to meet.
