In both 1820 and 1830 US Federal Census, Joshua Eaton lived in Easy Windsor, Hartford, CT.

In the 1840 US Federal Census, Joshua Eaton lived in Westmoreland, Oneida County, NY.

Joshua died March 18, 1845, Stockbridge, NY, and is buried in Stockbridge Cemetery, grave # C83-M. Stockbridge Cemetery is in Munnsville, Madison County, NY. See a picture of Joshua's headstone.
Note that the records say that Joshua died May 18, 1845, but the headstone says March.
See a picture of Joshua's daughter Cornelia's headstone, also in the Stockbridge Cemetery.

US Federal Census taken prior to 1850 did not name any household members except head of household. All others were listed by gender and age group. Therefore specific identifying information must come from other sources.

The 1850 US Federal Census places the three children Andrew, Ann and Samuel in Westmoreland, Oneida, NY with Andrew as the farm owner. They shared the home on the farm with another couple Samuel and Eliza Wickings and their baby daughter. Joshua had died five years earlier and the older sister Cornelia had died six years earlier. Caroline was already married.

There is an 1850 Census record that lists Jane S. Eaton in Stockbridge, Madison County, New York that lists her as the owner of the property. An older man Andrew Eaton (her brother-in-law?) also lives there but is not the property owner. This would make sense if Andrew was her indeed brother-in-law who had come to help on the farm after the death of Joshua. The farm was valued at $10,800. Her daughters Ann and Emily (Emeline) were living with her at that time.

Cornelia Jane Eaton married Carlos A. Adkins, a merchant and they had at least three children: Eleanor (b circa 1841), Charlotte (b circa 1842) and Theodore F. b 25 Aug 1844. Cornelia Jane died December 18, 1844 and is buried in Stockbridge Cemetery, Munnsville, NY in the same plot with her father and her husband Carlos. The plot also contains her son Theodore son 6 yrs 6 days old 1844-1850 and another person Willie, no other information given in the record. Their daughter Charlotte Cornelia Adkins Edwards filed for DAR membership.

William Stiles Eaton died June 13, 1845, Bennet Springs SC buried Williston Cemetery Barnwell County SC. He was a graduate of Hamilton College, Oneida County, NY probably unmarried.

On June 17, 1875 US Federal Census Ashel/Ashael Knowlton Eaton was a chemistry professor living in 4th election district Ward one Brooklyn NY. He lived in a frame and stone home at 57 Henry Street valued at $6,000 and he lived alone. In 1880 he was listed as a widower and chemist boarding with a family in Brooklyn NY.

Andrew Eaton married Sarah F. Wood (b circa 1830 NY) circa 1851 NY. They had six children: daughter Frances A. (Frankie) (b 1852, NY), Samuel E. (b 1854, NY), Charles A. (b 1858, NY?) Rose (b circa 1863), Clark S. (b 1868), and Louis Stiles (b 1870, Canada). They lived in Lenox, Madison County, NY according to the US Federal Census 1860. They lived in Woodstock, Oxford, Ontario, Canada during the 1861 Canada Census. I found the birth record for Louis in Canada but have not found him in any other records. The family lived in Wells Village, Faribault, MN during the 1875 MN State Census and then again in 1880 for the US Federal Census. In 1900, Andrew and Sarah still lived in Wells Village with their single daughter Frankie and divorced son Samuel. The 1900 record indicated that Andrew and Sarah had six children with only five living. Andrew was at various times a farmer, a grain dealer and a postmaster. He died March 26, 1909, MN.

Ann Eaton married William Hayden Blackmer 1851 in NY. They had at least four children: Ellery Haden (b 1855, NY), Edward Edwin (b 1855, NY) Charles Knowlton (b 1857, NY) and Cornelia (b 1860, MN) Blackmer. Ann and William Blackmer lived in Vernon, Blue Earth, MN in 1860 and in Shelby, Blue Earth MN in 1865. In 1880, they lived in Franklin, Marshall, KS with their son Charles on their farm. In 1900 William and Ann lived in East Lincoln Township, Atchison, MO. In 1910, Ann lived with her sister Caroline Eaton Frost and Caroline’s children in Nebraska. Ann’s son Ellery also lived with Caroline’s children on the farm in NE in 1930.

Samuel Chapin Eaton married Lavinia Myers Purdy February 1, 1864 in NY. They had seven children: William A. (b 1865), Emma M. (b 1867) Samuel E. (b 1868), Allen Knowlton (b 1869), Elizabeth (b 1873), Julian (b 1876) and Mary L. (b 1879). There are some sources that claim Samuel was a physician. I have not found that to be true. In the 1880 US Federal Census, he and his family lived in Orangetown, Rockland County NY and he was a chemist. He was also listed as a chemist when they lived in Newtown, Queens, NY in 1870. He was also listed as a chemist in Nyack NY in the 1900 Federal Census. In the NY State Census of 1905, he was listed as an Assayer. He and Lavinia still shared their home on Broadway with all of their adult children except son Samuel.
