Kelly Kathleen Fellingham was born on November 10, 1954, in Monterey, California. (Hey, someone has to be born in paradise!) Kelly's father (Richard Joseph Fellingham - Joe) was a career Marine, and as a result, the world was their home. They lived in places like Corpus Christi (they didn't like it), Omaha, Havlock (NC), and Hawaii. Kelly was an excellent student, a cheerleader, and a pretty regular girl.
When her father retired, he went to work for Grumman (Thanx from the crew of Apollo 13!), so they moved to LonGisland. (This turn of events led to Kelly and Dave meeting at a dance club on the south shore during the summer of 1973.) She started her college career at SUNY Stony Brook, but managed to finally convince her parents to foot the bill to Cornell after her freshman year.
After Cornell, Kelly went to work for Westinghouse, where the very male-centric engineering culture assumed they could over work her to death - HA! After dazzling them for a few years, her degenerate husband (me), had to transfer to Stony Brook (talk about full circles) to finish his degree, so she took a job at Grumman. At Grumman, Kelly really hit her stride. Kelly was a lead systems type on some very high tech avionics stuff - if I told you I'd have to kill you, really! (Actually, I don't even know - she had Top Secret clearance, and I really wanted to live.)
After a few years, children and her husband's career led them to New Jersey (yuck!), so Kelly went to work for Bell Labs. However, before she even got there, they weren't Bell Labs anymore, her boss was different (and a sexist jerk!), and it just wasn't much fun. So, following her maternal instincts, Kelly became a full time Mom - which was actually much more work.
Things being what they were, the family moved to North Carolina, and when the girls started to get a little older, Kelly went to work part time at SAS Institute. She slowly increased her hours over the years, and in 1996 she went back to work full time (at least in part due to Dave's unemployed status - boo!)
Kelly's parents are Richard Joseph Fellingham and Francis Bierl Fellingham.
Kelly is the third of four children: older sisters Linda and Francine (named after their mom), and a younger brother Joe (really Richard Joseph, like his dad).
Kelly and David were married in Infant Jesus Church in Port Jefferson, New York, on October 15, 1977. They have two daughters: Heidi Kathryn Frost and Heather Kelly Frost
